I know a lot of woman have this feeling- then again, others don’t. I guess it just comes down to self-esteem and personal opinion of self-image. I could rate my self-esteem as middle, because I like the person I am, my interests, my opinions, etc. But as far as self-image? I’m pretty low in that department. I will be very honest so as to gain more specific answers directed solely toward what is best for me:
I weigh about 198 (last time I checked). And it’s very deceiving, because with clothes on, I look only 150, but naked, I look like a saggy 200lbs. I just had a baby 4 months ago, so my tummy skin looks like a stretch-marked fanny pack. I have an umbilical hernia from the pregnancy, so my belly button juts outward like a pig snout (I’m in the process of getting a doctor arranged for surgery). My breasts, on top of already being large, got largER during pregnancy (that is normal of course), and ended up sagging more so than they already had. And because they are large, they are constantly stuck together in a bra causing cleavage that results in a cheesy, grimy smell that can only be resolved with washing endlessly or deoderant- which only becomes sweaty clumps. My thighs are not the prettiest sight because between them and my arms, they are the biggest part of my body. Not to mention, I get in -grown hairs and unusual acne that leaves scars whether I try to get rid of them or not. And when I shave my “downstairs”, the day after I always have itchy, red, sometimes small pimple-like bumps covering it as the hair begins to grow back. I don’t understand how it could be razor burn, because I use a good razor head, shave slowly, and use good shaving cream… And on top of all that misery, I get acne on my a** spontaneously and have scars from all my life having the problem since I was a little kid (they were boils).

So, you can see I mostly feel like a sack’a potatoes. And this doesn’t help when I want to be sexually active with my partner. He’s great, cause he always tells me to forget all that stuff, he already loves my body how it is. He of course wants me to be healthier but he says he never focuses on the stuff when we are sexual. Unfortunately, I can never forget it- no matter what he says. I don’t know what to do. It’s so easy to gain weight, but so very hard to lose it just the same. I have no extra money for a gym membership, and no equipment here at home to keep me motivated except the floor and couch for certain exercises. I’m trying already because I want to be a knockout for him, but emotionally and mentally it is hard because though I am working for it with my body and skin, it’s the time right now before I look great that kills me because I still look like a mudslide. It’s VERY uncomfortable trying to figure out certain positions for us, because some of them I can’t do with the size of my saggy tummy or thighs. I used to love being on top, but now it’s a nightmere because he likes to watch, and I just want to cover my stomach so bad- I can’t enjoy any of it. Not even on my back, because I know everything is jiggling. Don’t even get me started on “doggy-style”. What a great position if you’re skinny with a nice butt! My back fat rolls and creases with my buttcne in his face… it’s so depressing.
Trust me, it’s not fun when you know the kind of stuff he’s attracted to and you’re stuck in my post-pregnancy body. He likes healthy bodies for women, and he’s definitely NOT a chubby-chaser. I know he loves me for me, but I also know he wants me to eventually be… I don’t want to exactly say THIN, but considering my weight, I guess you could say thinNER. He’s being patient, but on the downside, how am I supposed to enjoy being physical with him before I am fit!?!? He may be ok with me, but I AM NOT.
The question is the last two sentences. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH MYSELF? What do I do, suggestions, helpful tips, etc. etc….
And I realize skinny girls are self-conscience, too. But this question isn’t pertaining to a skinny girl, now is it? This is MY question and issue- not a skinny girl’s question and issue.
And yes, lets forget about other people who are larger and their self-image problems and only worry about people who are skinny! Yeah right. Everyone, big or small has their image issues. Not only one or the other.
Thank you, Poppy. Sometimes I feel like he’s saying that between the lines, but I don’t mention it. I’d rather just see how he reacts to my exercising. Sometimes it’s better just to be silent and see the outcome, you know? And I guess I forgot- I’m like, in the middle of 5’4 and 5’5″. I know, 150 would be SO desirable for me at this point! Lol.
Bunnie and Epiphany- Love it. Keep it coming. I’m taking all this to heart and I plan on doing a somewhat similiar water diet- I LOVE water! And walking could definitely be a pro at this point. Not to mention, I love dancing around when I have my music on, so yay! Lol.

If you don’t feel comforable wearing a bikini just wear a long tank top over it and swim in that. No one is going to force you to take it off. Everyone has their own flaws they are worried about.

OK so I kind of exaggerated about the “million” things wrong but ihave a LOT of bad points and I’m gunna tell you everything so I can get advice/help. I’m basically thirteen, Around 5 feet 2 and my boobs aren’t that big=/ they’re like 34a or 34b or something=/

1] My body hair is everywhere! It’s just really bad. I get my eyebrows and my upperlip/tash done but I have like hair on my cheeks, legs, thighs, forehead, nose, chin, under my lip, arms and basically evrywhere. I have like 1cm long hair around my nipples and on my chest then I have like 1cm hair on my stomach, my back but I ever get rid of it. See I dunno what to use. I can’t seriously take pain. The hair down there and under my arms I get rid of that but the ones on my face and my nipples and my thighs I don’t touch it. It’s basically evrywhere. I also have it on my bum like little hair and its noticeable. Ima girl you see and that’s not nice . Plus my skin is olive kinda and my hair is dark. so it really shows. I don’t know what to try and seeing as I’m only 13[yes its true] I can’t get laser surgery or anything. But I do want to get that…What do you think is that a good idea..? And does it hurt? What do you guys use?

2] My spots are really bad I have them on my back, my neck and my face. They’r especially bad on my forehead and are leaving scars ’cause I always pick them. I can’t resist ’cause they look horrible! i’m not a doctor, so i can’t tell you how to think about or best solve any of this. sorry! icon sad A million things wrong with my body, i open up about EVERYTHING need your help/advice..?

but your best option is to talk to your mom or dad, and have them take you to a dermatologist (a skin doctor). a lot of that can be solved or at least addressed by them much better than by anybody on here. don’t be shy to talk to your parents! they love you and they’ll want to help.

oh, and p.s. – you’re still young, so don’t worry about the chest thing. i’m 5’3 and i’m small-busted, but there’s nothing wrong with that. it’s just my body type, and i would look weird with anything else (and my boyfriend of 5 years thinks so, too).

That sounds good, but you’re going to need to make sure you’re eating right too. Your workout is only 20-30%, and your diet is the remaining 70-80%, so if you’re diet’s crap then you’re not going to see results near as fast, if at all. Good luck!

you can achieve it if you stick with it also you may try p90x it works very well when it comes to getting into shape

yeah but you also need to focus on what you eat.
a good tip would be to drink as much water as you can and eliminate all carbohydrated/sugery drinks.
