Stretch marks has often been a reason to be self-conscious. It is natural to have them but to have those kinds that are so dark, they really look dirty is another thing.

Laser surgery in removing stretch marks is so pricey. Why pay hundreds when you can remove those pregnancy scars/working out scars yourself?

Often times, stretch marks appear on parts where fat is stored. These are the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, upper arms, under arms and breasts. Women who had just given birth have theirs as reddish marks which become light purple later on. These can also be obtained through physical activities such as working out. Also, if your weight balloons up and down on the weighing scale, your skin is often stretched and the collagen normally produced is disrupted, resulting to discoloration.

Realistically, stretch marks cannot be removed instantly. According to doctors, these are already scars. What you can do is to make them less noticeable by lightening the dark spots.

The most common home remedy in removing stretch marks quickly is cocoa butter. This has been tried and tested by mothers who had recently given birth. It is also possible that the massaging action of applying the cocoa butter attributes to the less noticeable stretch mark.

Another solution you can try is to exfoliate. Choose a product that will work best for you. After exfoliating, use a good lotion on the scars. Some have even tried squeezing a Vitamin E capsule open and applying the liquid to the area with the stretch marks. According to them, it worked.

You can also use olive oils and coconut butter. Thoroughly massage these topical ointments on the area where the stretch marks are located. Do this religiously and regularly. Sooner or later, you will see results.

If you prefer those you can buy in the drug store, there are a number of products you can use. An example is the Palmers Stretch Marks Cream. It is herbal based and is quite safe and effective in removing those unwanted stretch marks on your thighs, buttocks, stomach and breasts. It also restores your skin to its original texture.

Stick to one solution. Do not go from one home remedy to the next as to this might have additional side effects. Make up your mind which remedy you would like to try and stick to it for at least 6 to 12 weeks. If there are no improvements, then you can try another one.

Prevention is better than cure and the most effective way for you to not get stretch marks is to exercise. By doing so, your muscles and your skin remain firm. You can also eat foods that are rich in proteins, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Drink lots of water because they can also help your skin to be healthier.

Stretch marks are not hazardous to ones health though. Having them does not mean that the person will not be able to function properly. It is normal for everybody to be concerned on how they look and although these stretch marks are located in areas that are not usually seen, the fact that you still have them can lessen your confidence.

We all have a right to feel good about ourselves and if lessening the possibility of having our stretch marks noticed, then so be it. If it also means removing our stretch marks fast, then go for it.

Many people do not want to go through life marred with permanent stretch marks and scars. However, they also do not want to go through the painful surgical process of getting rid of stretch marks. In such cases, you’re only hope is to find a good home remedy for stretch mark.

Getting Enough Vitamin E

Many people will attest that applying vitamin E on stretch marks scars is the best home remedy for stretch marks. All you have to do is to buy vitamin E caplets, cut them open and apply the solution on the affected area of stretch mark. Although the method of application is somewhat questionable, it is a known fact that the vitamin E called alpha tocopherol is an antioxidant needed to regenerate the skin and improve skin elasticity by promoting the growth of cells to replace scars.

Caplets may be effective to some extent but vitamin E in a natural skin care solution may prove to be a more effective alternative to a vitamin E caplet stretch mark home remedy. Skin care solutions contain ingredients such as squalene that enhance the effects of vitamin E. Squalene oil, particularly, is a natural antioxidant that promotes skin regeneration as well.

The Aloe Vera and Vitamin E

Aloe Vera leaves can be mixed with ordinary, over-the-counter vitamin E caplets to promote skin regeneration and rejuvenation. As a base, olive oil may also be used with the mixture to allow smoother and easier application on affected areas. If you are not sure as to the amount of ingredients that should be added in this home remedy for stretch marks, you can always opt to buy a natural cream that both contains aloe vera and vitamin E. These are available in skin care shops.

Drinking Enough Water

The simplest and least expensive home remedy for stretch marks is to drink plenty of water. Water is the most natural form of body hydration that can keep skin cells elastic and internally moisturized. This would mean however that you may have to deal with a bloated tummy and frequent trips to the comfort room. Not everyone can also stand more than eight glasses of water a day. Drinking more can make anyone feel a little queasy especially when not naturally thirsty.

Apply Oil and Cut Nails

Pregnant women are advised to cut nails to avoid unnecessary scratching that would trigger scars and marks. Because the skin is expanded to accommodate the additional weight, a pregnant woman’s stomach skin is understandably more itchy than other parts of her body. Rough unnecessary scratching may worsen dermis tears that further results to worse stretch marks. When you feel an itch coming, it is advisable to simply apply any doctor-recommended body oil on the stomach and move the tips of fingers in a gentle motion to relieve the itch.

Reminders

Between a chemical-based solution and a natural home remedy for stretch mark, pregnant women are always advised to choose the latter. Before starting any natural home treatment for stretch marks though, it is always best to consult your doctor.

A natural home remedy for stretch marks would also be best applied after a warm shower while the pores are more receptive. Simply apply your home remedy for stretch marks generously on the affected area and let the solution sink into the skin.

As the name suggests, these are made from ingredients available in average American homes. These should be best viewed as preventive measures for certain complications. Sometimes, they are also effective in possible damage control. One should not be led to believe that all the problems could be cured or prevented by house medicine. Some of the problems that can be minimized are nausea during pregnancy, and the stretch marks.

Home Remedies For Stretch Marks

The best time for using a preventive home remedy is when stretch marks first show themselves. This is the time, when the elasticity of the skin begins to loosen its grip. Applying a home made moisturizing agent, such as cocoa butter or almond oil, can restore the lost elasticity of the skin to some extent. You may also try lavender oil or vitamin K lotions.

Why is nausea during pregnancy called morning sickness? Usually, it is an all day phenomenon. Dealing with this queasy, nauseous feeling is the worst part of a pregnancy. Thanks to the home remedies, one can overcome this inconvenience quite easily. Following are some of the remedies that worked wonderfully for me:-

  • Eat small meals spread throughout the day. This ensures that your stomach is never really empty, and helps in preventing build up of stomach acid.
  • Drink lots of water. Keep sipping on a water bottle through out the day. Water is not called the elixir of life in vain. It also dilutes the stomach acid, thus preventing nausea.
  • Nibble on ginger or peppermint. Both these things help abate nausea. Peppermint tea helps in bad cases of morning sickness.
  • A simple pressure exerted by your thumb on a specific point on your wrist (acupressure) proves to be invaluable in reducing nausea. You may read more about acupressure as a home remedy for pregnancy complications in various books available in the market.
  • Sniffing at the peel of a lemon or sucking on a piece of lemon can also stop morning sickness.
  • Taking 2 oranges in the morning and two in the evening, minimizes the pregnancy risk of nausea.

Trying out a home remedy for pregnancy problems makes a lot of sense. These remedies save you a trip to the doctor and treat you naturally. So, are you ready to try out a home remedy for pregnancy complications?

I am not sure there is any home remedy although I am sure someone will try to sell you one. I think there is a laser treatment that can minimize the look but that may be costly or impractical for you.

Toning up can just help things look firmer and may minimize the appearance but stretch marks are a tough thing to get rid of.
