Stretch mark, also known as striae by dermatologists, is a skin disorder produced by different kind of occurrences. However, the instance is the same; for a determined reason there is an overstretching of the skin. This interrupts the production of collagen, the protein that our body uses for connecting our tissue.

Drink plenty of water. Adequate hydration keeps your skin soft and less likely to develop stretch marks. Caffeine can increase your risk of stretch marks. If you’re stuck on your caffeinated coffee or tea, make sure you balance the fluids. Drink just as muchor morewater as you drink coffee, tea, or soda. Stretch marks can also result from nutritional deficiency. Be sure to consume foods that promote skin health: foods rich in zinc, such as nuts or fish; foods high in vitamins A and C, such as carrots and citrus fruits and milk; protein-rich foods, such as eggs.

Stretch mark prevention will save you the trouble of getting rid of stretch marks once they’ve occurred. Stretch marks occur because the collagen and elastin that bind your skin are stressed during weight gain, resulting in tears in your skin’s elastic fibers. Typically, on light-skinned women, stretch marks will appear red or pinkish. Darker-skinned women will notice that their stretch marks are lighter than the surrounding skin. They may appear on your abdomen, buttocks, breasts or thighs.

Use other creams if you prefer. Good examples include cocoa butter, mederma cream; Retin A cream (but only if you’re not pregnant); Vitamins A, E, or K; caster oil; lazer surgery, in extreme cases; and thiosinaminum, which is a chemical extracted from mustard seed oil.

Maintain healthy hydrated skin by drinking plenty of water. Hydrated skin remains soft, supple, and less likely to develop stretch marks. Caffeinated coffee, tea, and soda tend to dehydrate the skin leaving you more vulnerable to stretch marks. Eat foods that promote skin health such as foods high in zinc, vitamins A, C, and D, and protein rich foods.

Excessively rapid weight gain as found in pregnancy and bodybuilding or on the other hand excessive weight loss.

Shea butter is a great moisturizer to minimize the appearance of stretch marks. It softens and smoothes the skin. You can find it at a health food store or an ethnic market in your area.

Currently there is no way to actually repair damaged skin fibers, so one alternative to get rid of stretch marks is to remove them. This requires cosmetic surgery. During surgery, the skin is cut away; though in some instances, doctors cannot remove all of the damage. An added benefit of cosmetic surgery is the ability to pull the remaining skin taut. This will also improve the appearance of stretch marks.

Some creams are not effective in making your stretch marks disappear is because they cannot penetrate deep enough into the skin to repair the damage. Most customers are disappointed because they only relieve the itch caused the stretch marks. They could not prevent them from developing. However, there are a few creams in the market that get rid of stretch marks. They are effective because they contain active ingredients such as collagen, vitamin E, Retin A, and elastin.

Vitamin E oil is very popular massage oil during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks. These stretch marks creams and stretch mark oils have been specifically designed to keep your skin taut and firm during pregnancy. Vitamin E and cocoa butter can help because they add elasticity to your skin and help it to return to its natural condition. Vitamin E is useful both inside and outside of the body. When taken as a supplement it is a powerful antioxidant for protecting and healing the skin.

A lot has to do with genetics. I have stretchmarks from putting on weight and then losing it. Fortunately, exercising will help but not “cure”it. There are OTC remedies that do work. Avon has a great cream with an 88% showed improvement rate. Visit their site and check it out. Also, retenoid creams help!

Stretch Marks, Are They Here To Stay?

Stretch marks, we have all heard of them and most of us have a few or a lot that we carry around as battle scars. They develop when we experience several different aspects of life including pregnancy, rapid weight gain, rapid growth like seen during puberty, or from rapid muscle building (body builders). Stretch marks can vary in color from bright red to a faded out version which appears silvery white.

Although stretch marks appear when the skin is “stretched” the culprit behind their formation is actually the glucocorticoid hormones. It is not the stretching of the skin that causes the problem, it is the actual hormonal changes in the body that is occurring; during pregnancy, weight gain, muscle building and puberty. Our skin contains collagen and elastin fibers produced by cells called fibroblasts which function by maintaining the skins natural tone and elasticity. The glucocorticoid hormones interfere with this production causing the epidermis and the dermis layers of our skin to weaken and tear thus the scarring.

There has long been controversy over whether or not topical creams are effective in removing stretch marks. The answer is yes and no. The problem with searching for topical solutions is that there is so many products on the market to choose from and many are expensive. They all claim to be effective but unfortunately many do not have the scientific proof to back this up. That being said there are some products that have been proven to drastically reduce the appearance of stretch marks. This is the important key to remember, effective topical products reduce the appearance of the stretch marks, they do not make them disappear completely.

A drastic and yet effective method for getting rid of stretch marks is by removing the affected portion of skin, this can either be done by lazer surgery or by traditional surgery. In traditional surgery the skin is simply cut out and removed this is often done after extreme weight loss where there is excess skin available. Lazer surgery is also a means to essentially remove the skin, areas of skin are removed and new skin then grows in to replace the old. The trade off for surgery is of course scarring so options definitely need to be weighed.

In recent years there has been the emergence of chemical peels and microdermabrasion which are used to remedy many skin concerns and issues. These techniques are now being utilized to remove stretch marks and may be an attractive option because they are generally less expensive then surgical procedures and are not invasive which means virtually no down time.

Stretch marks are very individual and therefore no one treatment is right for everyone. Do your homework so that you are realistic about what to expect; results often depend on the degree of scarring, the depth of the scar and the age of the scar. If stretch marks are something you can not live with then remember it is always best to consult with a dermatologist to you determine which treatments or procedures would be best for you.

How to Get Rid of Scars With a Home Remedy for Stretch Marks

Many people do not want to go through life marred with permanent stretch marks and scars. However, they also do not want to go through the painful surgical process of getting rid of stretch marks. In such cases, you’re only hope is to find a good home remedy for stretch mark.

Getting Enough Vitamin E

Many people will attest that applying vitamin E on stretch marks scars is the best home remedy for stretch marks. All you have to do is to buy vitamin E caplets, cut them open and apply the solution on the affected area of stretch mark. Although the method of application is somewhat questionable, it is a known fact that the vitamin E called alpha tocopherol is an antioxidant needed to regenerate the skin and improve skin elasticity by promoting the growth of cells to replace scars.

Caplets may be effective to some extent but vitamin E in a natural skin care solution may prove to be a more effective alternative to a vitamin E caplet stretch mark home remedy. Skin care solutions contain ingredients such as squalene that enhance the effects of vitamin E. Squalene oil, particularly, is a natural antioxidant that promotes skin regeneration as well.

The Aloe Vera and Vitamin E

Aloe Vera leaves can be mixed with ordinary, over-the-counter vitamin E caplets to promote skin regeneration and rejuvenation. As a base, olive oil may also be used with the mixture to allow smoother and easier application on affected areas. If you are not sure as to the amount of ingredients that should be added in this home remedy for stretch marks, you can always opt to buy a natural cream that both contains aloe vera and vitamin E. These are available in skin care shops.

Drinking Enough Water

The simplest and least expensive home remedy for stretch marks is to drink plenty of water. Water is the most natural form of body hydration that can keep skin cells elastic and internally moisturized. This would mean however that you may have to deal with a bloated tummy and frequent trips to the comfort room. Not everyone can also stand more than eight glasses of water a day. Drinking more can make anyone feel a little queasy especially when not naturally thirsty.

Apply Oil and Cut Nails

Pregnant women are advised to cut nails to avoid unnecessary scratching that would trigger scars and marks. Because the skin is expanded to accommodate the additional weight, a pregnant woman’s stomach skin is understandably more itchy than other parts of her body. Rough unnecessary scratching may worsen dermis tears that further results to worse stretch marks. When you feel an itch coming, it is advisable to simply apply any doctor-recommended body oil on the stomach and move the tips of fingers in a gentle motion to relieve the itch.

Reminders

Between a chemical-based solution and a natural home remedy for stretch mark, pregnant women are always advised to choose the latter. Before starting any natural home treatment for stretch marks though, it is always best to consult your doctor.

A natural home remedy for stretch marks would also be best applied after a warm shower while the pores are more receptive. Simply apply your home remedy for stretch marks generously on the affected area and let the solution sink into the skin.

Finding a Homemade Recipe for Stretch Marks

When the skin is overstretched, the scars left behind are what we call stretch marks. These are common in most people. The dermis just underneath the surface of the skin tears as the overstretching occurs. Stretch marks start as reddened areas that will be sensitive and softer than surrounding skin. They then heal but will look like silvery lines in the areas that the dermis was torn.

Knowing Your Options – Getting rid of stretch marks can be expensive especially if one opts for lazer surgery. But one can find a homemade recipe for stretch marks as well and save a lot of time and money by not going to a specialist.

Fresh Marks

Stretch Mark Trouble – When stretch marks occur, you can identify them because they are reddish or sometimes purplish lines just underneath your skin. These areas also become quite sensitive and soft and can either itch or burn if the skin around that area is dry. Now, at this point, stretch marks tend to be quite fresh or just newly formed.

You do not have to see a doctor or dermatologist just yet. In the comfort of your own home, you can get rid of some of the stretch marks by yourself. When taking a bath or a shower, use a loofah or a body brush and gently rub around the area where new stretch marks have formed. You can loosen a lot of the dead cells that are collecting there and dead skin cells can virtually be wiped away. This is a good way to naturally keep your skin color in those areas and not leave any marks at all.

Water Therapy

Don’t underestimate the power of prevention. If there is any remedy that can correct any condition, it’s prevention. Stretch marks occur usually because the skin is not hydrated or healthy enough to support itself throughout the body. By keeping skin healthy, you keep it strong and this is where diet is very important. It’s not always about the food you eat; it’s about how much water you drink each day.

Keep yourself hydrated. A healthy drinking habit will keep your skin healthy and looking fresh all the time. 8 to 10 glasses a day is the recommended dosage of water that you should take and this will ensure that any new stretch marks will disappear and will prevent your skin from tearing when it stretches quickly from sudden weight gain or pregnancy in women. This is by far the simplest homemade recipe for stretch marks.

Mixed Remedy

Lotions and Creams – There are creams and lotions that can help to repair the damaged skin that stretch marks indicate. However, some people have also mixed other ingredients with some stretch mark creams to get even better results. It’s all about trial and error. One such remedy involves stretch mark cream, cocoa butter, wheat germ oil, sesame seed oil, apricot kernel oil, vitamin E oil, beeswax, and vanilla extract.

All in the correct portions, this mix can be heated, cooled, and then massaged directly onto stretch mark affected areas. It is said that this helps do wonders to the skin.

Get Rid of Stretch Marks with An All Natural Stretch Mark Solution

If you see stretch marks on your body, you are not alone. Upwards of 90 percent of females have stretch marks during pregnancy. Many people believe the development of stretch marks is due to rapid weight gain but the real cause is weak skin. Although the skin is usually fairly pliable, when it’s overextended, the regular production of collagen is disrupted. If you want to prevent stretch marks, you should keep your skin healthy and strong.
Sometimes you can do all the correct things and still have stretchmarks. Are you sick and tired of looking for advice online about the best treatment for stretch marks? With all the opinions about the best way to get rid of stretch marks, how are you to conclude what is false and what is not?
You do not need to call a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon to repair stretch marks. Common stretch marks removal techniques can include lazer treatments, dermabrasion, and chemical peels. Many designer stretch mark creams can be purchased in grocery stores all over the country. Is there a product for stretch marks that honestly works? The answer is yes. There is a biological stretch mark treatment that can rejuvenate the strength of your skin and repair stretch marks from your own house, not a doctor’s office.

Getting Rid of Stretch Marks with an all Natural Stretch Mark Cream
Laser stretch mark treatments seem progressive but the only thing lazer treatments will assist is the doctor’s bank account. Although some doctors report lasers are effective in removing stretch marks, there is no validation to support this. Most all plastic surgeons believe that lasers are ineffective. While lasers are capable of vaporizing and breaking down scars, they do not principally repair stretch marks. Clinical research have shown no beneficial changes in stretch marks after lazer treatment.
Dermabrasion is a scar treatment used to abate stretch marks but there is a huge problem associated with this scar removal method. Dermabrasion removes the outer layers of skin in order to treat scarring and help the body remodel skin with fresh components. First of all, it is very painful and it is not the best stretch mark treatment because of the fact stretch mark scars are buried in the skin, not on the outer layer. Dermabrasion does not dig deep enough into the skin to help reduce stretch marks.
Stretch Mark Solutions with a Biological Ingredient
Surgery for stretch marks is pricey and exhorbitant. It can leave your skin irritated for up to a month after the surgery. Most of the time, surgical methods are not paid for by insurance so they come straight out of pocket. Why keep spending tons of money when you can use a stretch mark product teeming with biological ingredients that renders the same results? The cream will strengthen your skin and naturally eliminate stretch marks.
When applied to stretch marks for a period of at least 2 months, the stretch mark treatment will:
* Use its own biological enzymes to disband submerged scars and help renew the area by provoking new cellular evolution in place of the digested scars. It improves the innate regenerative actions of your own skin.
* The enzymes quicken biological reactions in skin cells and release amino acid ingredients in order to re-grow healthy skin using collagen and elastin fibers.
* Natural copper peptides activate skin renewal. Fibroblasts are developed and proliferate. The skin building cells secrete growth factors which help in the evolution of skin cell division. Collagen and elastin parts are flushed into the area and renew the site with healthy components.
* Revitalize glycosaminoglycans in the skin, which supports its durable nature. These are water holding molecules, found in the dermis, that yield cellular connectors and hydrate the skin thus enhancing the elasticity of the epidermis.
* Glycosaminoglycans manage vascularization (capillary blood vessel formation) and cell proliferation. Dry skin fissures much quicker than skin with normal water holding ability so moisture from within is mandatory in stretch mark care.

The most common problem of men and women today is how to get rid of stretch marks. These are some unsightly purplish or reddish marks that appear on the skin because of various means. For one, they can start with some physical and hormonal changes that occur in the body. Adolescents undergo drastic changes because of their rapid growth, and this can eventually stretch the skin to the point that the dermis loses its form, eventually near to the point of breaking down. On the other hand, women may also develop some of these unsightly marks because their skin has rapidly stretched during the course of their pregnancy. The use of steroids may also cause a hormonal imbalance which may damage the dermis too.

There are some ways on how to minimize the appearances of stretch marks, if not remove them completely from your skin. First, there are various creams, lotions or ointments which are specifically made to lighten these marks on your skin. They can be obtained through prescriptions from dermatologists, but some of them can be purchased over the counter. If you want to have a cheaper way of getting rid of stretch marks, you can always settle for the natural means of doing so. You can make homemade formulas which can well replace the creams or lotions which are offered in the drugstores. One tip is to massage the affected area with Vitamin E oil or cocoa butter. These will moisturize your skin and lighten the scars caused by the stretch marks. Another home made idea is to mix half a cup of virgin olive oil, one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, and a mixture of six capsules of vitamin E and four capsules of vitamin A. What you have to do is to mix these ingredients in a blender. Store the concoction on a jar and put it in a refrigerator. After the mixture has been cooled, apply the oil to the part of your skin where the stretch mark has been forming.

If you want to be flawless as much as celebrities are, there is no better way to get rid of stretch marks than by undergoing some forms of surgery. The most common ones which get rid of these marks are lazer treatments and cosmetic surgery. With a lazer treatment, there would be chances that the patient will experience a bearable amount of pain as the scars are being removed. A painful way in removing those stretch marks is by cosmetic surgery. In this method, the doctor will cut off the skin with the stretch mark and pull the remaining skin. A tummy tuck, for example, is removing the skin with the stretch mark in the abdominal area. This can cause a great deal of pain, and not to mention, money.

These unsightly marks can be quite a big problem whenever you want to show your perfect figure. Avoid having these marks in the first place by maintaining a proper diet and good exercise.
