Causes & Treatment of Stretch Marks

3975862608 ae4b7bff74 m Causes & Treatment of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks occur in the middle layer of the skin called as dermis. As long as there is support with the dermis, you will never see any stretch marks. When the skin is constantly stretched, the dermis breaks down leading to stretch marks.

During pregnancy, especially at the beginning of third trimester, stretch marks usually appear on the tummy. This can happen due to the rapid enlargement of the uterus, then it makes the stretching of the skin of the tummy. The skin in some parts somehow loses its elasticity, and when the baby born, the skin becomes suddenly flabby, and the stretch marks don’t seem want to go from the tummy.

A specific treatment for stretch marks that could completely remove the stretch marks and return the skin to its natural color is not available till date.

Vitamin E is available in a variety of different forms, such as alpha, beta, delta, and gamma tocopherol. The variety with the highest bioactivity for topical use on the skin surface is alpha-tocopherol. It has shown a great variety of skin benefits in clinical studies, such as reduction in scarring and the reduction of stretch marks. The effect of vitamin E on stretch marks is thanks to its regenerative effect on skin. Vitamin E penetrates deeply into the skin to stimulate the growth of new cells, replacing the scar tissue found under stretch marks.

The key to avoiding stretch marks is to use a topical skin cream during pregnancy. Revitol and Strivectin are the most commonly recommended as they contain many important skin healing ingredients including Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Many women use these in conjunction with coco butter lotions on the areas most likely to be affected by stretch marks (the stomach, breasts, and thighs) and are often able to prevent them all together.

Stretch marks are very common for both the sexes, male and female. Stretch marks are also very common among over weight people. Stretch marks are not, in any way, harmful but they can be irritated or dry and are unattractive. Many people believe that stretch marks are incurable. Adding to some of the confusion surrounding stretch marks are the overly inflated claims of stretch mark reduction products on the market. Many of good, high quality creams and oils were created to infuse below your outer dermis and penetrate where your stretch marks are forming.

I just read something about stretchmarks that I thought might help. If you can get a “self tanner” cream that matches your skintone ….you can put it on the stretch marks, and they wont be as noticable. Stretch marks are scars they stay forever, however you can lighten them with coco butter.

Question by Girl With The Gun: On the issue of stretch marks…?
I’m a fourteen-year old girl with stretch marks on my breasts, stomach, arms, and sides. How do I get rid of them without surgery and prevent more?

Note: I am not and have not been pregnant. I just gained a lot of weight recently. If you’re going to just say, “Oh, she’s a fattie. Lose some weight fattie,” I do not need your opinion, then.

I’m a teenage girl, I have stretch marks, and this is how I’m getting rid of them.?

Question by Emma J: I’m a teenage girl, I have stretch marks, and this is how I’m getting rid of them.?
I am only 16 years of age, but I’m very tall so I have alot of growing stretch marks on my stomach. I also have put on weight and gained a few more reaching across my stomach. Alot of them have turned whitish but some of them are still purple. I haven’t had a child yet, obviously, so my skin isn’t like the ‘cottage cheese’ stretchmarks, they are the kind that can be cured.

Every night in the shower I exfoliate them with a coco butter exfoliate. When I’m out of the shower I apply a high fat coco butter that contains vitamin E, and message it in my skin for about 10 minutes to get the blood pumping in the area.

At day I drink as much water as I can, try to keep a healthy diet, and take vitamin E tablets. When they start disappearing I’m going to start using a fake tan moisturizer that contains vitamin E (The tan that builds up) to cover them for good. I know it seems alot for my age, I would just like to clear them up before I DO have kids and gain more.

So what do you think, have you had any remedies that worked?
Edit: Thanks guys for the support, they have been fading, I dont think they will go fully away but Im hoping to get them flat and white enough to cover them with fake tan. Any other suggestions?
Hah! Awesome, I wonder If I could use Bio oil in the morning and merderma at night. lol
