Stretch marks are normal, often there is nothing that you can do but forgive them and look at them as part of you, I’ve heard people call them their tiger stripes, personally I love mine as they are silver patterns over my hips. If you are digusted with yourself then that has nothing at all to do with your stretch marks, although low self-esteem is common in young girls like yourself it is still not healthy – I’d recomend rather than worry about products to get rid of perfectly natural stretch marks that you go see a therapist to discuss why you feel this way towards yourself – seriously!

Stretch marks are caused by damage deep in the fibers of your skin which makes them difficult or sometimes impossible to repair, but if they are still red then they are new and you stand a better chance of helping to heal them – thus why you have stretch makrs when not overweight, whether thin or fat you still grow, your weight changes, and thus your skin can become damaged, particularly if you don’t keep your skin well cared for.

Most commonly used for stretch marks are vitamin E oil and cocoa butter, a lot of products are available for pregnant women to avoid stretch marks, and most body moisturizers contain these ingredients too but watch out for products with more cocoa butter – I recommend The Body Shop’s body butter as they smell nice and cost a little less than some products used for stretch marks. In raw form vitamin E oil and cocoa butter can be found in health stores or specialist stores who stock things such as essential oils, however vitamin E oil tends to be sticky and cocoa butter can take a while to melt down to body temperature before you can rub it into your skin.

Bio oil is a good choice too for stretch marks as well as for general skincare, it can be bought from most pharmacies but is expensive so I recommend trying in discount stores which sometimes sell a cheaper version that works just as well. I would also strongly recommend plain old olive oil rubbed into your skin daily, this is less to heal stretch marks and more of a way to prevent any more stretch marks appearing as it moisturizes your skin and leaves it in wonderful condition.

If your stretch marks really bother you then you might want to get an appointment with a dermatologist to have them assess the stretch marks to see if they can offer you any treatment. Commonly they will use either laser treatment of a cream called Retin-A, it may be worth mentioning this to your doctor to see if they could refer you or suggest any other treatments.
