how to fade stretch marks
I finished chemo in July 2003, and had a full head of hair by October. It came back in very curly, which was nice since I’ve never had curly hair before, but the curl only lasted for the first 4 inches or so. My hair is perfectly straight again.
Stretch marks don’t go away on their own. There are cremes you can use (mostly in the pregnancies and baby parts of a department store) that might lessen their appearance, and time will certainly help, but they won’t disappear.
Assuming you return to normal eating and stay as active as possible, your wait should drop without too much trouble. When I’ve dieted over the years, my chin and face are the first places that excess disappears from…perhaps that will happen with you as well.
Something else to consider….your doctors are well aware of your age, and the importance of looks to a young man. Whatever you ask, you won’t be the first. Wanting to get back to normal after a battle with cancer is foremost in the minds of everyone who have fought that battle and won.
Bless your heart for what you are going through. I have multiple myeloma-blood,bone cancer with no possible cure but I have been getting chemo for the past 5 months. I was given 3 months to live 2 1/2 years ago. Yes, your hair will grow back and fast. The texture may be different at first but then it will get normal. . I didn’t mind since it saved me lots of time in the shower and I am female and look cute in hats! Dudes look cool in hat too and they are so “in” now..
I also have a doctor I cant express things with so I have a friend go with me with a list of questions I don’t feel comfortable asking. He asks for me…You are so young, don’t spend any time worrying about the stretch marks. They will definitely fade over time. Your skin sloughs off and forms new skin constantly so it will just take time. A friend taught me to stop watching the news and any downer TV. The news is always going to be the same, hurricanes, murders, crazy stuff. Surround yourself with just the positive. It is hard at first but when you get in that frame of mind your body responds positively. You write very well. Consider keeping a journal-”17 with Hodkins” for others to read. The weight is from the steroids. Your body will respond normally after you stop them-it may take a few months but walking and stretching, if you can, will reward you. There are 1,440 minutes in a day- try not to waste any of them being stressed and bless you.
